The Role of the SEMI Foundation
The SEMI Foundation serves as the Hub Operator for NNME. In this role, the Foundation provides the structure, coordination, and shared infrastructure that enable the network to function as a cohesive national system. It ensures that Regional Nodes are not operating in isolation, but as part of a unified strategy aligned to industry demand.
As Hub Operator, the SEMI Foundation:

- Guides and connects Regional Nodes across the country
- Establishes shared standards, tools, and systems for execution
- Ensures alignment between education, training, and employer needs
- Supports consistent measurement of outcomes across the network
- Launch and operate with clarity and confidence
- Build and validate high-quality, industry-aligned training programs
- Boost industry awareness
- Track meaningful outcomes, including learner readiness, job placement, career progression, and employer satisfaction

NNME is supported through a strategic partnership with the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), enabled by the CHIPS and Science Act.
